Sewing at Last

I've finally got a little sewing inspiration (and a bit of time) back!


I bought this bright picnic quilt kit on sale at Fat Quarter Shop and spent this morning doing the piecing:


Excuse the poor photos today. It was overcast and drizzly this morning so it was hard to get some natural light. Also the puppies kept walking all over this and rumpling it as I was trying to photograph it, hence the wrinkles!



I still need to applique some flowers onto it in bright orange, so it looks like this:



And I also put together some pretty charm squares with some white sashing for a quick baby quilt:

These fabrics are just so lovely. I'll take another photo in better light to show them up better, when I've finished quilting it.

Pincushions Galore

I haven't blogged in ages because basically, I've had nothing to blog about! I've been so busy with work lately once the weekend gets here and I've done all my houseworky things, I don't have much energy left for crafting.

But hopefully my crafty enthusiasm will return soon - two things should help this. Firstly, I've splurged on a heap of inspiring new beautiful fabrics and crochet threads online which should be flying their way toward my house as I type.

Secondly, the online patchwork group I am a member of is thinking of having a pincushion swap so I've been avidly browsing beautiful pincushion patterns. The above is my first attempt from this pattern. Mine is nowhere as good as the one in the pattern! But I did put it together very quickly last night, so that is my excuse.

I've also found this very exciting list of 60 pincushion patterns, which I am trawling through at the moment. There are some lovely ones here! So watch this space, I may just experiment with a few more.

Blue Bear Clothed

I finally finished Blue Bear's little vest and I think he looks so much smarter now. I'm not sure what I am going to call him - does any one have any name ideas? The pattern he is from is called Bluebeary which I think is very cute, but he does need a name of his own.
